Diagnosis

How do we use this program?

The program is very easy to use. After clicking the START button in the menu bar, you can choose from three subprograms according to your specific problem.

The selected subprogram will guide you through the steps that lead to a probably diagnose. On each page, you get a question and some possible answers. Depending on the symptoms you see, you can choose one of the answers provided. Depending on your choice, the next page will appear with additional questions and possible answers. Again, choose an answer, and so on. (Questions are in green, possible answers are in blue.)

Depending on the nature of the disease or other problem, you will come to a possible diagnosis after more or less (sometimes quite a lot) steps. So you will most likely find out what disease you are facing, i.e. what is wrong with the pigeon or even the whole flock.

When you come to a possible diagnosis, you will see it in burgundy. For example:

Possible diagnosis:

Paratyphoid

If there is an arrow in front of the burgundy link, you can click on the link to read a detailed description of the disease or problem:

  • Paratyphoid

*

If there is nothing else under the burgundy line, we have reached the end of the examination. However, if we see this blue link:

  • Continue the examination

then it is really worth continuing, because there may be another problem with the pigeon that also needs to be explored. In this case, note (possibly record) the diagnosis received, which can be read later, and then continue the program following the blue link.

Here, too, we point out that making a correct diagnosis is not an easy task. This doesn’t always work in real life either, we can sometimes be wrong. Therefore, the diagnosis obtained here is always only a probability, which is probably correct, but may not be. No more than an option. Therefore, use the result obtained only in your sole discretion and responsibility. Consider if you see fit or ignore it. This program is like a textbook: it can give you a lot of help, but it can’t decide for you.
